Position Overview
You lead US tax compliance and advisory for a venture-backed fintech startup. You partner directly with the founders and global finance teams to shape tax strategy, mitigate risk, and enable rapid cross-border growth.
Role & Responsibilities
You lead and manage US federal, state, and local tax compliance, overseeing preparation, review, and filing of returns.
You provide tax planning and advisory services that optimise US tax positions and guide business decisions.
You coordinate with external auditors, advisors, and consultants on complex US tax matters.
You analyse intricate tax issues, identify risks, and deliver practical, actionable solutions.
You ensure all reporting follows US GAAP and IRS regulations.
You support cross-border transactions and other international tax matters that affect US operations.
You mentor and train junior tax team members on current US regulations.
You stay current on changes in US tax laws and advise leadership on their implications.
You collaborate with finance and business teams to ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting.
Must have Criteria
You are a Chartered Accountant with an active US CPA certification (mandatory).
You bring 7–10 years of hands-on US taxation experience across corporate, indirect, and international domains.
You possess deep knowledge of US federal, state, and local tax laws.
You have practical experience handling cross-border transactions and ensuring US GAAP compliance.
You demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
You consistently manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
You maintain strong attention to detail and superior organisational skills.
Nice to Have
You have prior experience in a Big Four or other top-tier accounting firm.
