Position Overview

You'll build core backend systems that power scheduling, payments, session orchestration, and reporting for thousands of education businesses worldwide. You'll own features end-to-end in a fast-moving startup environment where your code directly impacts revenue and customer retention. This role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to shape foundational infrastructure for the future of education technology.

Role & Responsibilities

• You design and build scalable backend services and REST APIs for the education management platform
• You own features end-to-end from database schema design to production deployment
• You optimize performance and reliability of systems as the user base scales to thousands
• You write clean, testable, and maintainable code using modern development practices
• You collaborate closely with the product team and senior engineers on feature development
• You diagnose and resolve production issues quickly to maintain system reliability
• You iterate rapidly based on market feedback and make decisions with incomplete information

Must Have Criteria

• 0-2 years of experience building production-grade backend systems
• Strong proficiency in Node.js for server-side development
• Solid understanding of REST API design and implementation principles
• Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases for data management
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Chai
• Strong problem-solving skills with structured approach to technical challenges
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

• Previous experience working in fast-moving startup environments
• Experience building or scaling systems that serve thousands of concurrent users
• Strong ownership mindset with ability to take full responsibility for features
