Role Overview
- Own complex SQL: write, review, and optimize queries across large, sometimes messy datasets (billions of rows) for analysis and production use.
- Build reliable data pipelines and analyses in Python (pandas/pySpark where needed); automate recurring workflows and QC checks.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into measurable analyses, experiments, and metrics; tell the story with clarity.
- Develop and maintain clean, well-documented datasets, views, and dashboards (e.g., dbt/Looker/Power BI/Tableau).
- Investigate anomalies and data-quality issues; implement guardrails, tests, and alerts to prevent recurrence.
- Partner with Product, Ops, and Engineering to define KPIs, run deep-dives, and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Improve performance: index/partition/tune queries, profile data, and benchmark transformations.
- Uphold best practices for version control, reproducibility, and code review in analytics.
What You’ll Bring (Must-Haves)
- Exceptional SQL: expert at window functions, CTEs, complex joins, subqueries, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Fluency in Python for data analysis/automation (pandas, numpy; familiarity with notebooks; writing modular, testable code).
- Proven experience analyzing large-scale datasets (row counts in the hundreds of millions+ or multi-TB) and delivering business insights.
- Understanding of data modeling skills (star/snowflake), and ETL/ELT concepts, and cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift).
- Meticulous attention to detail with a bias for validating assumptions, reconciling numbers, and documenting logic.
- Ability to turn findings into clear narratives and visuals for technical and non-technical audiences.
- 2–5 years in a data analyst/analytics engineer role or equivalent.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, Dagster, or similar orchestration/testing tools.
- Exposure to PySpark or distributed compute frameworks.
- Dashboarding in Looker/Power BI/Tableau and semantic modeling (LookML/DAX).

Position Overview
You will join the founding analytics team and turn raw transaction data into insights that shape product, growth, and operations. You own the entire data lifecycle—from ingestion to visualisation—and influence key business decisions in a high-velocity fintech environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collect and clean data from diverse internal and external sources such as databases, APIs, and spreadsheets.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies and convert them into actionable insights.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for product and go-to-market teams.
- Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and guide decision-making.
- Automate routine reporting tasks and establish processes that improve data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
- Perform regular data audits to guarantee integrity and up-to-date sources.
- Translate business problems into analytical scopes and recommend solutions backed by data.
- Document data sources, data models, and analysis workflows to create reusable playbooks and share best practices.
- Make ad-hoc and scheduled reports and run complex SQL queries to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Run proofs of concept with clients and deliver deep-dive analyses that validate hypotheses.
Must have Criteria
- Minimum 2 years’ experience analysing large datasets across multiple domains.
- Advanced ability to interpret complex data and present insights clearly to varied audiences.
- High proficiency in Excel and SQL along with experience in visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Programming experience in Python or R, including libraries like Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
- Solid grasp of data management, cleaning, transformation, and validation techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills for independent investigation of complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach to maintaining data quality.
