Position Overview
You'll lead a multidisciplinary engineering team driving end-to-end development of satellite components from concept to flight readiness. You'll define system requirements, manage design reviews, and ensure products meet space industry standards. You'll mentor 4-8 passionate engineers across mechanical, electrical, and software domains while scaling manufacturing processes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end engineering development of spacecraft ADCS components from concept to flight readiness
- Define, manage, and validate system and subsystem requirements for space-grade hardware products
- Mentor and manage a multidisciplinary team of 4-8 engineers across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
- Own and conduct critical engineering design reviews ensuring compliance with space industry standards
- Oversee comprehensive engineering documentation, quality compliance, and design standard processes
- Drive technical decision-making for reaction wheels, star trackers, and torque rod development
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to scale production processes while maintaining quality standards
Must Have Criteria
- 7-10 years of engineering experience with focus on space technology or aerospace hardware
- 3-5 years of proven engineering management experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Systems engineering experience with spacecraft or satellite development programs
- Full satellite development experience from design phase through mission operations
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering from Tier 1/Tier 2 colleges
- Experience conducting engineering design reviews and ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering documentation processes and quality management systems
Nice to Have
- Experience with LEO satellite missions or constellation development projects
- Knowledge of space industry standards and certification processes (NASA, ESA, or commercial)
- Previous experience in startup or high-growth manufacturing environments
- Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Aerospace Engineering or related field
- Hands-on experience with ADCS components like reaction wheels, star trackers, or torque rods
