Position Overview

As a Senior Data Scientist you will be part of the founding engineering team to build high-performance, AI/GenAI capabilities that power reconciliation, document understanding, financial classification, and payment behavior intelligence for enterprise finance teams.

With deep GenAI and Applied ML and ML OPS expertise you would lead the AI charter end-to-end.

Role & Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable AI/GenAI features across reconciliation, document understanding, financial classification, and payment behavior intelligence.
• Deploy reliable inference and data APIs (REST; GraphQL optional) for ML/LLM features and external integrations.
• Write clean, secure, and performant ML/LLM code; enforce reviews, reproducibility, versioning, and MLOps best practices.
• Build robust evaluation, A/B, and regression test suites; debug, profile, and optimize latency/throughput across environments and devices.
• Implement human-in-the-loop feedback to continuously learn from user actions and corrections; close the loop into model updates.
• Hire, mentor, and grow an ML/GenAI team; set technical direction and raise engineering quality across the org.
• Partner with PM, Backend, Data, and DevOps to translate product problems into scalable ML systems and ship user-first features on time.

Must - Have Criteria

• 5-10 years of experience in AI/ML, with 1–2 years hands-on with LLMs & GenAI.
• Strong knowledge of ML algorithms, NLP, transformers, vector search, embeddings, classification, and unsupervised learning.
• Built and deployed applications in production using OpenAI APIs, HuggingFace, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
• Solid with semi-structured document parsing and extraction pipelines.
• Comfortable with unstructured, noisy financial data and high-throughput workloads.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with chunking strategies, prompt templates, and hybrid search (semantic + keyword) in RAG systems.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS or fintech domains (banking, reconciliation, ERP, accounting, compliance etc.)
• Familiarity with observability, retries, drift detection, automated retraining, and rollback/version control.
• Stack/MLOps : Python; PyTorch/TensorFlow; scikit-learn, pandas; MLflow, Airflow (or equivalents).
